2nd test,day3: India make Lanka bat again…

Day3 of the 2nd test match between India and Sri Lanka- No one would have thought at the beginning of the day that…the Lankan team would surrender so easily…without any evidence of a passionable fight out. The end of day 3 saw Sri Lankan batsmen coming to bat again for the second time…following on…and also trailing by lot of runs. At the end of the days play it was pretty sure even for the Lankans that the test match result has already gone in favour of India…courtesy…a brilliant display of disciplined bowling by paceman Sreeshant…trying to make a marking comeback into the Indian team. It was all his show…when one thought that the wicket was favourable for batting and Sri Lanka would not have any problems reaching near the Indian total…Sreeshant proved it wrong…turning the tables in favour of India. He ripped through the Lankan batting order…and paved a way for 100th test win for India…with his five wicket haul.

In reply to India’s score of 642, the Lankan’s had the worst possible start when Dilshan was out contributing nothing for naught.Though there were some partnerships in between…the procession of down fall had already started for Lankans. They were all out for 229…much behind the Mammoth Indian score. Mahela Jayawardena topscored with 47 while Sangakkara followed with 44. But those were never enough. Srishanth breathe fire and took 5 for 75, while the spinners Harbhajan and Ojha took 2 wickets each..providing the essential support and providing the pressure at the other end.

Following on…Sri Lankans had misery in their 2nd innings too. At stumps they were 54 for 4…losing their top order…giving clues of early finish of the 2nd test…probably on day 4 itself…
